CTS supports World Mental Health Day

Today CTS joined schools and companies across the world to raise awareness of mental health issues.
During tutor time our staff and students discussed the definition of mental health, the types of mental health problems that exist and the symptoms. They also learnt ways in which they could look after their mental health and found out about the variety of support networks that exist both within and out of school.
Students watched a thought provoking video helping them to understand the pressures of society and how to care of ones self. At the end of the session, students were set a challenge to make sure they take the time to ask their peers how they are.
Mrs Reynolds said: ‘This month is our Ambition For All month and as a TaMHS school we think it is very important to use every opportunity to ensure our students are comfortable talking about their mental health and know who to talk to should they need support. We wanted to use the #AmbitionForAll campaign to encourage our students to reflect on how they could live healthier lifestyles, not only physically but mentally as well.’
