A group of our Year 9 students visited the University of Cambridge’s world class Department of Engineering.

During the visit the 15 students visited the university’s new Dyson Centre for Engineering Design, just days before it was officially opened by James Dyson.

They were also challenged to design and create a crane jib, saw students revising for their examinations and visited the oldest of Cambridge’s colleges, Peterhouse.

CTS Teacher Mark Bidwell said: “We are keen to give our Year 9 students the chance to visit universities to encourage them to think about what they want to do after Sixth Form.

“Our students are capable of going to Cambridge and Oxford and we want to show them that it is there for them.

“They really enjoyed the crane jib challenge and the tour around Peterhouse College was brilliant.”
