About the School

Corby Technical School is a state-funded secondary free school for Corby families.

Corby Technical School has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted and is a small school. We offer a curriculum that has a strong technical bias to suit those young people who have already shown a strong aptitude for technical subjects like engineering, electronics and computer programming.

The school works in close partnership with local companies to offer significant elements of work experience relevant to students’ choice of career.  We ensure that our students are fully prepared to move into further study at university or in high-level apprenticeships in technical industries, including engineering, science, architecture and computing.

Students study a fully differentiated curriculum and progress in a climate of mutual support and respect. Students and staff alike have the common purpose of success and achievement. The aim is to develop confident learners, who take ownership of their learning and are proud of their achievements. The school has a huge emphasis on self-discipline and good behaviour where students’ independent skills are nurtured. All students are encouraged to develop the personal qualities and skills necessary for the career they wish to pursue.

Corby Technical School is part of the Brooke Weston Trust (BWT).

With 25 years of experience of managing schools, the Trust’s mission is to transform educational performance by making long-term commitments to communities.

Every BWT school has its own unique character, but they all share a culture of high expectations and ambition for all.

Our schools are based in Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, all of which regularly collaborate with each other to drive towards this ambition. This means that staff and pupils from across BWT work together to support each other, share best practice and try new ideas.

Over each academic year there are many opportunities for pupils from all our schools to meet, compete and celebrate success together.
