Admissions information for students with statements of SEN or EHCP.
To enable parents, children and the receiving school to plan well in advance of transfer from primary to secondary phase, Part 4 of a student's statement of SEN or Section I of the EHC must be amended no later than 15th February in the year of transfer. Parents will receive a letter from NCC at the beginning of October, seeking details of their school preference or representations. Parents should return their preference to NCC by early November. Consultation then follows with the school and the Local Authority has to make the final decision about placement and will inform the parents. Parents are given their right of appeal to SENDIST at this stage, if they are not in agreement with the decision.
Please note that the following timetable will apply for the appeals process for Year 7, September 2018 entry, and for all in–year admissions as defined below:
If you are not allocated a place on the offer date you are entitled to appeal that decision. Further details of how to appeal will be shared nearer the time.
