Home Learning

Click here for our latest edition of the home learning snapshot news

Staff across the school and wider trust have been working hard to prepare home learning resources for all of our students. This section of the website should provide you with links, information and advice to support you to get the most out of your home learning experience. You will find resources for academic study, enrichment and wellbeing as we believe these things are all important aspects of education.

The majority of our online learning will take pace via Microsoft Teams. Your child can access this using their school log-in where they will find work, set by their teachers, via their class team. Click on the link to Email/Teams in the tab on our homepage here.

For step-by-step instructions on how to log in to Microsoft Teams, see the video in the Online Learning tab.

We understand that the idea of home learning may feel daunting, and have put together five 'top tips', informed by experts in home schooling and child psychology, that you will find below:

In school, we are used to having daily routines and timetables. Every family will have different needs, but try to work out a routine that works well for you. Get up and dressed, and try to have a similar pattern to your activities daily.

Think of ways you can reward yourself if you meet your targets. This could be spending a little time doing your favourite hobby or perhaps phoning your friend for a video call.

Work space

Think about how you can create a space in the house for school work. It is best if there is a different space for relaxation so you can move for your rest breaks.

A lot of the work is online, but try to avoid looking at a screen for too long at a time. Intersperse online activity with those where you are working on paper, or doing something more practical.
