Report an Absence

To report an absence parents/carers must ring the school office (01536 213100 – option 1) before 8.15am.

When leaving a message, the student’s name, tutor group and reason for absence should be stated. Any absences not reported to the school will be registered as an unauthorised absence.

When the student returns to school we request that the parent/carer sends a letter stating the date and reason for absence, together with a doctor’s or hospital note if applicable.

If medical appointments are known in advance, it would also be helpful to receive a copy of the appointment record for our files.

Please note that it is a legal requirement for the school to keep accurate attendance and absence records for reporting purposes.

Taking holidays during term-time

The school does not authorise holidays or trips during term time.  Please see our attendance section for further details.
