Year 11

In Sociology we study the process of becoming who we are, from learning a language to knowing how to behave “normally”.  We learn about Crime ad and Deviance in terms of who is more likely to commit crimes: men of women, old verses young and rich verses poor.  Other content that is covered is the role of the family and how they function, as well as the effects of family breakdowns, resulting in new types of families.  The last topic to study in inequalities where the students get a deeper understanding of why few people have the most money in the world and how this is deemed unfair and why people are not equal in terms of chances in life.
