GCSE Computing

Students in Year 11 are studying OCR Computer Science.  The specification can be found here.  The course consists of three units of work:

  • (01) Computer systems - Written paper, 1 hour 30 mins (40% of the qualification).
  • (02)Computational Thinking, algorithms and programming - Written paper, 1 hour 30 mins (40% of the qualification).
  • (03)Programming Project - Non-Examined Assessment, 20 controlled hours (20% of the qualification).

Term 1:
NEA Final Preparations
NEA Completion (Completed in controlled classroom conditions)

Term 2:
NEA Completion(Completed in controlled classroom conditions)
Data Representation

Computational Logic
Algorithms, Translators and Languages
Students will complete a Paper 2 mock exam in Week 8. 


Term 3:
System Security and Software
Ethical, Legal, Cultural and Moral Concerns
Networks
Students will complete a Paper 1 and 2 mock exam in Weeks 7 and 8. 

Term 4:
Systems Architecture
Memory and Storage
