Sixth Form Student Leadership
At Corby Technical School, student leadership plays a vital role in developing the necessary leadership qualities and skills to thrive in the workplace. Not only does it benefit the student, but also the school community as each role is specifically designed to act as a soundboard for student voice.
As well as the discreet leadership roles, we also have other opportunities for our sixth form students to develop these skills as part of school life. Some examples include:
- Leading student committees for the wider school - leading the meetings, taking minutes and feeding back to the Principal
- Taking part in school performances and events - perhaps as a presenter or supporting the smooth running of the event
- Becoming a reader leader - supporting younger students to improve their reading skills
- Volunteering as a Buddy - to support younger students in developing positive relationships and helping them to navigate challenges so that they can thrive at school.
