Exam Preparation
First and foremost, effective lesson time is the most significant factor in ensuring excellent outcomes at GCSE. Each lesson provides students with high quality teaching and resources with regular one-to-one support from their class teacher. It is important that students are putting high levels of effort into each and every lesson. However, there are ways to supplement classroom studies to improve Maths progress outside of lesson time.
Identify
Independent revision needs to be targeted. Identify topics that you have struggled with in lessons or assessments. Your class teacher will be conducting detailed question-level analysis for each student after mock examinations. You will be given this to pinpoint your revision and close gaps in knowledge.
Review
Once you have identified topics to revise, you should use Maths Genie, found at https://www.mathsgenie.co.uk/gcse.html to revise topics. Separated by grade, each topic has a video tutorial. We recommend watching the whole video, making notes, and attempting the examples given in the tutorial.
Assess
When you have reviewed a topic, you need to assess whether you have closed this gap in knowledge. On the same page as the video tutorial links, there is access to exam questions for each topic. When you have attempted these, you can access the worked solutions to mark your work. You can also study this mark scheme to help identify and correct any mistakes you have made. You may wish to speak to your teacher if you are still unsure after marking your independent work.

Corbett Maths provide daily revision sheets. These should take 10 -15 minutes to complete. Solutions are provided. - https://corbettmaths.com/5-a-day/gcse/

Revision Guides for Maths Exams
Students have been given advanced information revision guides in preparation for their calculator Maths Exams. Here is an electronic version of the guide alongside the mark scheme so work can be marked and areas for development can be identified. Students should attend morning drop-ins if there are topics they require further support with. Students should keep hold of their first revision pack given out last month as some topics that appeared on Paper 1 will appear again in either Paper 2 or Paper 3.
Students have also been given advanced information revision guides in preparation for their non-calculator Maths Exam. Here is an electronic version of the guide alongside the mark scheme so work can be marked and areas for development can be identified.
